2.0L MULTIJET II TURBO DIESEL ENGINE
The new, efficient 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine equipped on the new Jeep Cherokee features second generation, Multijet technology, is a four valves per cylinder and double overhead camshaft (DOHC) belt driven engine. Fitted with 1600-bar common-rail fuel injection system, solenoid fuel injectors and variable geometry turbocharger (VGT), the new 2.0-liter turbo diesel produces maximum power of 140 hp at 3,750 rpm and torque of 350 Nm at 1,500 rpm.
2.2L MULTIJET II TURBO DIESEL ENGINE
“The new 2.2L engine offers outstanding fuel consumption and performance. It produces 200hp at 3500Rpm and delivers 440Nm torque at 2500Rpm, making it one of the best-performing four-cylinder turbo-diesels on the market. The 200hp version is available with Jeep® Active Drive I and Jeep® Active Drive II.
A limited-power 185hp version, complete with 4×4 Jeep® Active Drive I, is also available. Both the 185 hp and 200hp versions come with the 9-speed automatic transmission and the Start&Stop system. The consumption and emissions, for the 2.2L Turbo Diesel engine, on the approved combined cycle are 5.7L/100km and 150g/km respectively.”
3.2L PENTASTAR® V6 PETROL ENGINE

JEEP® ACTIVE 4X4 DRIVE I SYSTEM
Jeep Active Drive I features a single power transfer unit (PTU) which is fully automatic and delivers
seamless operation in and out of four-wheel drive at any speed. The system does not require any driver intervention or feedback and is ideal for those who want an SUV with an all-weather-capable 4×4 system that is easy to use. Jeep Active Drive I offers balanced torque distribution with brake traction control.
The four-wheel-drive performance results from a fully variable wet clutch housed in the rear drive module.
The clutch supplies the proper amount of torque for any driving condition, including slippery conditions, aggressive starts and dynamic driving. Sophisticated algorithms enable the system to contribute to the driving dynamics while interacting with the electronic stability control (ESC) system when approaching the traction limits of the road surface.The rear axle disconnect feature only engages the 4×4 system when necessary for improved fuel efficiency.
JEEP® ACTIVE DRIVE LOCK 4X4 SYSTEM
Jeep® Cherokee Trailhawk® and its standard Trail Rated® Active Drive Lock 4×4 system provides exceptional 4×4 capability. Jeep Active Drive Lock includes II includes a two-speed PTU with torque management and low range and adds a locking rear differential to provide increased low-speed power when driving over extreme off-road trails.
In the 4-Low mode, the system locks the front and rear drive shafts to ensure more power at low speeds and greater towing capability. Low range provides a 2.92:1 gear reduction that enhances climbing ability and offers outstanding crawl ratios for severe off-road conditions.
The locking rear differential is selectable in any low-range terrain mode, but will lock automatically when in certain modes, such as “Rock,” to maximize tractive effort, which the tire patch can support. Jeep Active Drive Lock is standard on all Trailhawk models.

SELEC-SPEED® CONTROL
Selec-Speed® Control assists drivers with climbing and ascending steep grades. It includes both Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist. Selec-Speed® Control is only available on Cherokee Trailhawk.
REAR AXLE DISCONNECT
The new Jeep® Cherokee is also the first mid-size SUV to feature rear-axle disconnect, resulting in reduced energy loss when 4×4 capability isn’t needed and improving fuel efficiency. The rear-axle disconnect seamlessly switches between two- and four-wheel drive for full-time torque management and does not require input from the driver.
